Course profile 
This course is aimed at supervisors, owners, team leaders or managers who are responsible for health and safety. Supervisors have a legal and moral responsibility to look after the health and safety of employees. This qualification looks more deeply into general health and safety from a supervisory perspective and enables them to be in a better position to influence, monitor and train their staff to improve the health and safety culture.

This qualification will enable managers and supervisors to improve the health and safety culture of their organisation, whatever its size or activity by giving them the knowledge and confidence they need.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Have an understanding of the main causes of accidents and ill health in the workplace
  • Identify suitable health and safety control measures
  • Understand the legal responsibilities of individuals, employees, supervisors and managers
  • Undertake a risk assessment and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented
  • Explain the role of the supervisor in monitoring, motivating and training employees in health and safety
